History Of Performance Bitumen (PG) :

According to research, due to the shortcomings of conventional bitumen production methods, in 1987 in the United States, a program called the Strategic Roads Research Program was developed. The program focused on improving performance and durability, as well as securing US asphalt roads. In this program, the performance requirements of bitumen were reviewed and during which laboratory evaluation and evaluation of bitumen was performed as a way to predict the performance of bitumen in asphalt in the long run. The purpose of this program was to reduce the damage such as cracking and cracking of asphalt at low temperatures or fatigue of asphalt, during experiments, the performance of the produced bitumen by simulating the laboratory conditions with the conditions in which the bitumen in the asphalt is long. Long experienced, examined. In this way, we can predict what the behavior or performance of bitumen in asphalt will be in the long run.

Performance Bitumen :

Performance grade bitumen (PG) is graded based on performance at different temperatures. LTPP has developed a specific algorithm for calculating asphalt temperature based on the respective air temperature. With this algorithm, the maximum and minimum temperature of asphalt is calculated and the best bitumen that works at this temperature is selected.
The product obtained during the method of studying and predicting the performance of bitumen, by simulating laboratory conditions to the actual environmental conditions experienced, is called bitumen, PG bitumen or functional bitumen. For example, a bitumen is designed to be used in environmental conditions with an average of seven days of maximum temperature 52 and minimum temperature of -40.
